China has a long history of embroidery art. Low production efficiency, uneven embroidery patterns often occur, and the embroidery products may also be uneven. However, for lace with overly complex patterns, multiple colors, and long flower loops, it is undoubtedly handmade, and hand embroidered lace is more three-dimensional than machine embroidery. In China, hand embroidery has a long history. In addition to the well-known four Chinese embroidery styles, Su embroidery, Xiang embroidery, Shu embroidery, and Yue embroidery, there are also outstanding techniques such as Han embroidery, Lu embroidery, hair embroidery, velvet embroidery, Qin embroidery, Li embroidery, Shen embroidery, and ethnic minority embroidery. We will introduce embroidery in the following chapters, mainly focusing on embroidery lace.
